Palina Ringe was born in Togliatti, Russia, where her mother, a classical pianist, and her father, a Soviet Greco-Roman wrestling champion, nurtured her early passion for painting. When her Russo-German family moved to Hamburg, the challenges of a new language and culture weighed heavily on her. Yet, in visual art, Palina found refuge and expression, guided by private lessons from artist Alexander Slavin.
As a young child, she enrolled in the Art Lyceum, a prestigious school for exceptionally gifted young artists. After high school, she studied Illustration at Hamburg’s Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, where she was deeply influenced by the mentorship of Hartmut Gudenau and Almut Heise, masters of color and form who shaped her artistic vision.
Her creative journey took her to Mahalla-Berlin for an Artist-in-Residence program, followed by a residency at the Ohlwein Studio in Castellina in Chianti, Tuscany. She later drew inspiration from from the ancient walls of Dornburg Castle on the Elbe in Saxony-Anhalt, and more recently, she has been creating in the historic Nudelfabrik in Zeitz, near Leipzig.
Palina’s evocative works, each a testament to her relentless pursuit of artistic excellence, are showcased in galleries worldwide, including Galerie L and Le Bateau Libre in Paris, Altonale in Hamburg, Galerie Pusch in Baden-Baden, and the Deutsches Hygienemuseum in Dresden.
